In this video, Noan Chomsky talks about the purpose of the education system, the impact of technology, the cost or investment and the assessments vs. autonomy.
I think that the educational system has different methods to try to transform the education system into, but this result that they had high costs indebted to students. Chomsky exposes the idea of high growths that have new technologies, and therefore considers that the Internet is a valuable instrument. Another idea that emerges, it is that investing in education is very important because it is investing in human capital. Finally, the idea that you can draw up from this video is that the education system is designed so that it does pass tests and not to stimulate creativity in students and their aspirations to learn more about a subject.
In my opinion, it is necessary that people learn by themself in order to stimulate their creativity, without having to always need to a person who is the information we provide. The education has a high cost that families have to pay, but it is necessary in our society. Investing in education will allow us to have people more prepared for the workplace, so it is not a waste of time or money, but an investment that will benefit us in the future.
I think the school isn’t stimulated enough creativity and empower children. Teachers just want to learn what is in the books and pass examinations put them. This hinders their creativity and who are interested in certain aspects in the future might be interesting for people. In my opinion, we must encourage the creative development of children and don’t stop them, because their knowledge is better than outweigh them look rather undermined by the simple fact of not teaching something because it is implicit in the curriculum.
